Title: What is in Your Cup will Spill Out
Topic: Monday Motivation
Discussed by Sara Tracey
with The What's UP Radio Program

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves: “What's in my cup?" When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions?

Life provides the cup. You choose how to fill it. Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation and kindness, gentleness, and love for others.

Slow down. Stop fretting. Cease thinking and pulling up the worst-case scenarios. Right now, just be still with the Lord. Don’t try to fight this battle on your own and don’t keep scrambling to keep the fear at bay. Rest in the Lord’s great strength and look to who He is, for He is the God who is exalted among the nations and who takes personal interest in you.

Title: When Life Is Confusing
Topic: Monday Motivation
Discussed by Sara Tracey
with The What's UP Radio Program

When life is confusing, chaotic, and crushing, it’s easy to believe the lie that we are the ones who hold the responsibility to come up with the solutions.

We try to fix the distance in that relationship.

We go back and forth on whether we should quit or stay in our job.

We fill our calendar and then struggle to juggle everything on the schedule.

We’re try to make peace and resolve all the family drama.

We strategize and plan.

But in all of our attempts, we still feel anxious that it might not be the best solution or maybe we have not done enough.

Isaiah 26:3 reminds us: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

God’s Word promises that God has perfect peace for us when we do two things: Keep our mind on Him and trust that He has a way for us as we seek Him.

If life feels heavy and you begin to feel your peace being replaced with anxious planning, shift your eyes towards our all-knowing God and ask Him to help you find a way.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Psalm 55:22 (NKJV) “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV) “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save you; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.”

You may think that you are completely insignificant in this world.
But someone drinks coffee every morning from their favorite mug that you gave them.
Someone heard a song on the radio that reminded them of you.
Someone read the book you recommended and plunged headfirst into it.
Someone remembered your joke and smiled.
Someone loves themself just a little more because you gave them a compliment.
Never think that you have no influence whatsoever.
Your presence, which you leave behind with even a few good deeds, cannot be erased.

Title: It’s Perfectly Normal
Topic: Monday Motivation
Discussed by Sara Tracey
with The What's UP Radio Program

It is perfectly normal to need reassurances from time to time from those we love.
It is perfectly normal to want a relationship – a truly, truly good and wonderful relationship.
It is perfectly normal to not be happy all the time.
It is perfectly normal to wonder if people like you and to wonder what they think about you.
It is perfectly normal to want approval and acceptance from our friends and co-workers.
It is perfectly normal to have needs, wants, and desires.
It is perfectly normal to not feel “good enough” sometimes.
It is perfectly normal to have questions and wonder what is going on in the world.
It is perfectly normal to not love your body all of the time.
It is perfectly normal to have strong emotions and sad thoughts sometimes.

It is also perfectly normal to rely on the strength, wisdom, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and kindness of a God who loves you – no matter how you may be feeling.

Galatians 6:9 NLT “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up.”

NOT  by Erin Hanson

You are not your age, nor the size of clothes you wear.
You are not a weight or the color of your hair.
You are not your name or the dimples in your cheeks.
You are all the books you’ve read and all the words you speak.
You are your croaky morning voice and the smiles you try to hide.
You’re the sweetness in your laughter and every tear you’ve cried.
You’re the songs you sing so loudly when you know you’re all alone.
You’re the places that you’ve been to and the one that you call home.
You’re the things that you believe in and the people that you love.
You’re the photos in your bedroom and the future you dream of.
You’re made of so much beauty, but it seems that you forgot
When you decided that you were defined by all the things you’re not.

Things you don't have to worry about:
Your future, because God is in control.
Your past, because God has forgiven you and redeemed you.
Your value, because you are a priceless and loved child of God.
Your purpose, because you are chosen and created perfectly by God.
Your present circumstance, because God is faithful and will take care of you.
You are in good hands today and every day when you are walking with God.

Title: Don’t Feel Sorry for Your Kids
Topic: Monday Motivation
Discussed by Sara Tracey
with The What's UP Radio Program

Don’t feel sorry for or fear for your kids/grandkids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be. God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident.

Title: Don’t Waste the Person You Are
Topic: Monday Motivation
Discussed by Sara Tracey
with The What's UP Radio Program

God determined which family you would be in, what background you would have, what personality you would possess, what talents, ambitions, and dreams you would have for a reason. He created you exactly how you needed to be to bring hope and light to a dark and broken world. Instead of wishing you had a gift, personality, or calling someone else has, learn to embrace who and how God created you to be and use your own uniqueness to bring Him glory in a way no one else can. God created each and every single one of us to fulfill a specific purpose. Don't let anything stand in the way of you fulfilling yours.

Pastor and Author Dale Partridge once stated: “To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are.”

Title: Pooh and Piglet Sat with Eeyore
Topic: Monday Motivation
Discussed by Sara Tracey
with The What's UP Radio Program

Do you ever feel Sad and Alone and Not Much Fun to be Around
? Eeyore did. And Pooh and Piglet simply sat with him until he felt better. Sometimes that is all that is needed. Be a friend like Piglet and Pooh. And don’t be afraid to ask for help from a friend like Eeyore.
