Part 1 of 2
Our good friend Mark Lanier has a special 2-part discussion on the who, what, when, where, why, and how of God. You can learn more about Mark Lanier and his
Biblical Literacy class here.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Who is God? Do most religions recognize that there is a divine being? Mark explains that other religions try to find God within creation, not outside of creation.
What is God? Is He a genie in a bottle? Mark uses his daughter, Gracie who is pregnant with twins, as an example.
When did God become? What does “become” mean? This is a complex question and Mark does a fabulous job of explaining…

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Who is God?
Topic: Who Is God?
Discussed by Mark Lanier
with Biblical Literacy (www.Biblical-Literacy.com)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Where is God now? Mark uses Psalm 139 to illustrate where God is.
Why does God exist? What did Moses tell the people about God’s existence?
How can we find God? Mark says the best place to look for God is the Bible.
Einstein once stated: "I'm absolutely not an atheist ... The problem involved is
too vast for our limited minds. We are in the position of a little child
entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows
someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not
understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a
mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is.
That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being
toward God. We see the universe marvelously arranged and obeying certain laws
but only dimly understand these laws."
