This Hurricane Supply List has been prepared by Congressman Mike McCaul. Make your list and slowly pick up the items you will need! Personal Hurricane Supply List: At least 5 days of drinking water, one gallon per person per day, and a water purification kit. Non-perishable food, canned goods, dried goods, and a manual can opener. Hand tools, hammer, nails, screwdrivers, ax, and a handsaw. Flashlights, portable battery operated radio, and a NOAA weather radio, as well as plenty of batteries. First-aid kit that includes extra prescription medicine, bandages, and antiseptic. An extra set of car keys and extra cash or travelers checks (ATM’s and credit card networks might be down). Liquid soap and hand sanitizer. Fire Extinguisher. Infant necessities - medication, diapers, formula, and bottles. Plastic tableware, cups, and trash bags. Toilet paper, paper towels, and wet wipes. Towels, disinfectant, and bleach. Camera/Camcorder: Record property before storm and document damage afterwards. Full gas tank and several extra gallons stored in plastic containers. Appropriate clothes for Post-Storm: hat, closed-toe shoes, dry socks, and rain gear. Animal Care: Ensure that proper food and water are stocked. If You Evacuate: Pillows, cots, blankets, and sleeping bags or air mattresses - - shelters do not provide these items. Extra clothing and shoes.
