"O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;
2many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.”
3But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill.
5I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. 6I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.
7Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For you
strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.
8Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people!”

2but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
4The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”
