Title: Running in Freedom
Topic: Fourth of July Special
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
This week we get an extra-special treat!
On July 7, Pastor Ed Ethridge preached a powerful – and I mean POWERFUL – sermon on the importance of freedom and liberty – not only in our country, but in our spiritual walk.
How does the Bible teach us about freedom and liberty in Jesus? Pastor Ed uses Galatians 5:1 and 13-17 and Hebrews 12:1-3 to help us “Run in Freedom”.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
THE BIBLE TELLS US TO: Keep running until the end. (Heb. 12:3)
What were races in like in ancient Rome?
What is the prize waiting for us?
Do you still kneel before the cross?
Are you loaded with praise because of your freedom? If not, why not?
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, or if
you have a prayer request, text: 281.688.2630 and follow the text prompts.

Day 4
This week we get an extra-special treat!
Pastor Ed played softball growing up and into adulthood. He loved it so much, that he was putting it above his walk with the Lord – even as pastor! Listen as he shares this story…
THE BIBLE TELLS US TO: Be encouraged (Heb. 12:2)
What does “lay aside” mean? Pastor Ed shares a story about his work in the oil field. “Being free from the penalty of sin should compel us to run,” he says.
How can unbelief prevent us from running the race?
Why is it so hard to look away from sin and look toward Jesus?
How badly do you want to go to heaven?
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, or if
you have a prayer request, text: 281.688.2630 and follow the text prompts.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Pastor Ed continues with John 8:31… Are you still a slave to sin? Let’s change that today! Because God is NEVER pleased when we sin!
THE BIBLE TELLS US TO: Follow the example (Heb. 12:1)
Why do we fail to keep running when we sin or troubles come?
Who in the Bible are examples of “runners”? Jeremiah, Isaiah, Elijah, Moses, Jonah, Amos, Obadiah, and on and on…
THE BIBLE TELLS US TO: Be encouraged (Heb. 12:2)
How do you lay aside your fears and doubts?

How is your walk outside of the church walls? Are you the same person? Pastor Ed warns:
“Don’t let your flesh be the base of your operation.” Listen as he explains using Martin Luther (not King) as a reference.
Do you battle your flesh daily?
Are you “feeding” the new person in Christ?
If you sin more, do you get more grace? NOPE! That’s not how it works, y’all!

Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED: FREEDOM TO SAY IT OUT LOUD
Topic: Fourth of July Special
Discussed by Pastor David Fleming
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Pastor David Fleming has been the senior pastor of Champion Forest Baptist Church since 2006.
His passion is to preach God's word in a way that will disciple, equip, build, and lead the Body of Christ, so they can reach and win the lost for
Jesus Christ. David and his wife, Beverly, have three children, Jonathon, Hannah, and Rebekah.
This week’s sermon is from June 29, entitled “Freedom to Say it Out Loud”, which focused on Acts 4: 13-22.
(NOTE: The sermon theme for this week is relevant to the July 4th
holiday, but we should heed Pastor Fleming’s words all the time, in everything we do.)
Pastor Fleming shares the fifth and final expectation today: Tell them about Jesus.
The right thing to do is not always the easiest, fastest, or even the politically correct thing. It may be the thing that costs you the most. When government puts us in that awkward
position, that is when we must boldly stand up for what it right.
Our biblical convictions are not for sale for tax exempt status!
The apostles were willing to share to others the reason why they were being persecuted. They did not lie. They did not beat around the bush. They were up front and honest to
everyone who inquired.
Our mission is not to convert people to our way of “politically thinking”. Our mission is to win souls. Once they are saved, God will change their way of thinking.
Food for Thought: Don’t miss the mission while you are waiting for the final trip.
If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information
about how to become a Christian, please call Champion Forest Baptist Church.
They would be more than willing to pray with you. Call (281) 440-3800.
If you do not have a church home, consider visiting Champion Forest. They offer
both English and Spanish services on Sunday morning and throughout the week.

Day 4

(NOTE: The sermon theme for this week is relevant to the July 4th holiday, but we should heed Pastor Fleming’s words all the time, in everything we do.)
Is there anything more valuable than your faith? Is your silence for sale?
Pastor Fleming says we cannot afford to be a silent witness in today’s society. Jesus did not say “Be my witness whenever you want to. Or wherever you feel safe and it’s not too hot outside. Or where there
is running water and electricity.” Jesus said “Go unto all the world and preach the Gospel so that others might be saved.”
Pastor Fleming says one area that we should not compromise our Christian belief is in politics. Yes, Politics! A preacher preaching about politics from the pulpit on a Sunday morning! Oh how the tongues must
be waggin’!
The signers of the Constitution were being civilly disobedient against the laws of men. And that’s okay because they were following the law of God, not the laws of men. But is it wise to disobey the laws of men
NOW when they against our moral, Christian values?
If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information

Pastor Fleming refuses to NOT preach in the name of Jesus. If you tell him he cannot pray “In Jesus Name”, he will say “No thanks!”
The world wants us to be silent about the name of Jesus. The devil does not want the name of Jesus to be mentioned. He knows the power of the name of Jesus.
You have nothing to offer, nothing to give, if you don’t say the name of Jesus.
Listen in as Pastor Fleming gives the next two points in his sermon on freedom and opposition: 1) living a credible Christian life and 2) why it is important to know what you believe.

When Christians are told they must do things that go against their moral values – Biblical values – it opens a floodgate that is difficult to close. The more we stand up and fight for what
is right, the more opposition we will face. This is not a new thing to Christians. This has happened since the dawn of time.
So how do we face this opposition without turning people away? How do we explain our position in a loving and kind manner? After all, we are called to win souls for the Kingdom, not
push them away.
Listen in as Pastor Fleming gives the first of five ways to handle opposition.

Are you grateful for your freedom in America? Do you celebrate Independence Day with picnics and fireworks? Do you spend time reflecting on the true meaning of the holiday?
When Peter and John preached the gospel, miracles happened. Every single time. After they healed the lame man, they were arrested. Pastor Fleming emphasizes a specific word in
the Scripture: boldness. Peter and John were “bold” in their proclamation.
Christians across the world are being persecuted for their faith. They are standing boldly in their faith, but they do not have the support from their government. Here in America, we
currently have the freedom to worship the way we want. Pastor Fleming warns that these religious freedoms are slowly, but surely, being stripped away from us.
Stand boldly with the Scripture and fight for what is right!

If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information
about how to become a Christian, please call Champion Forest Baptist Church.
They would be more than willing to pray with you. Call (281) 440-3800.
If you do not have a church home, consider visiting Champion Forest. They offer

Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED: FREEDOM TO SAY IT OUT LOUD
Topic: Fourth of July Special
Discussed by Pastor David Fleming
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 2
Pastor David Fleming has been the senior pastor of Champion Forest Baptist Church since 2006.
If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information
about how to become a Christian, please call Champion Forest Baptist Church.
They would be more than willing to pray with you. Call (281) 440-3800.

Title: Devoted or Distracted - Freedom to Say it Out Loud

Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED: FREEDOM TO SAY IT OUT LOUD

Day 5

Day 4
Pastor David Fleming has been the senior pastor of Champion Forest Baptist Church since 2006. His passion is to preach God's word in
