There is a growing number of women who are having abortions after they’ve
already had at least one child. In fact, statistics show that 6 out of every 10
women who have had an abortion are already mothers – and 85% of these women are
single or unmarried moms. You might be thinking, “But how could they? What about
their other children? What about the father?”
Abortion does not only affect the mother and the unborn baby; it affects every
person close to the mother, including their other children. It is hard enough
raising children and trying to stay mentally sane! Add the guilt and depression
of murdering your unborn baby while juggling daily tasks such as work, laundry,
potty training, homework, shuttling kids to soccer practice and ballet…It
becomes unbearable.
In this first segment, Steve Soukup, with the Culture for Life Foundation, talks
about the post Roe vs Wade era. Steve says, “More people are moving away from
the abortion-on-demand mentality and are moving toward more restrictions on
abortions.”
But what about the die-hard, pro-choice crowd? Why are they still hiring the
best words-smiths and PR firms? It seems like every month they have a new
“catch-phrase” they are trying to sell to make abortion sound more appealing. It
looks like the American people aren’t buying it, though. Steve goes on to say
that no matter how they spin abortion, they are really losing.

The pro-choice crowd has been advertising safe, legal, and rare abortions since
the mid-90’s, calling them a “necessary evil”. Steve Soukup says that the
pro-choice people have come to realize that isn’t such a good slogan. But what
they’ve come up with now is even worse!
Didn’t Margaret Sanger, the mother of Planned Parenthood, once say something
like, “Abortion is great! We can purify following generations!”
Steve continues to talk about the psychological problems women experience after
having an abortion, especially those who are already mothers. Or course, the
pro-choice crowd blames all of this on pro-life advocates, saying we “guilt”
women into depression. When we stand on a sidewalk and offer love and prayer and
hope and forgiveness, we are “guilting” them into hating themselves. Oh yeah,
that makes total sense!
One interesting thought: If pro-life people continue to have large families
while the pro-choice crowd have zero children or just one or two, will they
eventually just “die off”? No no no no no. That will never happen. However, the
more babies the pro-life crowd raises to be pro-life, the more pro-life voters
we will have. We are already starting to see a trend of more and more young
people voting fiscally Conservative, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun. Imagine what
America could look like in 10 years!
Listen in to the next segment as Steve Soukup discusses how abortion affects the
children of mothers who have had an abortion.

Approximately 60% of women who have an abortion already have at least one child
at one, and nearly 85% of those women are single or unmarried moms. Steve Soukup
quotes Dr. Philip Ney, a psychiatrist and the head of the Psychology Department
at Mount Joy College: “So what is it like now to grow up in a home where you
suspect or you know that one of your little unborn siblings was aborted? It
creates a whole range of very, very deep conflicts. And we now call that
post-abortion survivor syndrome.”
Dr. Philip Ney continues, “They have in common many of the conflicts that were
found in those people who survived the Holocaust. For instance they have
survivor guilt… why should they be selected to live when their little siblings
were selected to die…which is precisely what happened to the people from the
Holocaust… It leaves this deep sense of guilt. And that is a difficult,
difficult thing to treat, because it is so deeply embedded. And…can you trust
your parents? Are they capable of killing you too? They killed one of your
little siblings…”
The anguish many children feel after their mom has an abortion can also be
compared to the guilt returning service men and women feel returning home after
war. They’ve seen such heartache and tragedy. They have nightmares and wonder,
“Why not me?” Children don’t know how to express these feelings and often times
keep them bottled up for years.
Steve Soukup says pro-choice advocates really need to start paying more
attention to the psychological effects abortion has on mothers, fathers, and
siblings. The pro-choice crowd wants to just ignore this issue, telling pro-life
supporters it’s all our fault that women feel guilty after an abortion.
Question: Why is it so bad to want to help those who have had an abortion and to
help their loved ones through the pain and agony? We counsel those with cancer.
We counsel returning soldiers. We counsel widows. We counsel those who have
suffered abuse. Why not counsel those who have willingly murdered their own
baby? Why not counsel the children of mothers who have killed their sibling?
