Title: Muhammad and Islam
Topic: Muhammad And Islam
Discussed by Mark Lanier
with Biblical Literacy (www.Biblical-Literacy.com)
Segment 4 of 6
Yesterday on the WURP, we aired the first 3 segments of the second part of a
study from Bible Scholar Mark Lanier on Muhammad and Islam. Mark did this study
several years ago but the information is still very relevant to today.
In the continuation of this series today, Mark begins looking into the
differences in the Bible and the Koran.
One difference is how the books were written. The Bible, for instance, was
written in a very specific way, in chronological order, and relayed dates and
historical facts.
The Koran, however, is in no specific order and even has very different accounts
of stories mentioned in the Bible.

Did you know that
the Christian scriptures have the most experts backing its authenticity than any
other writing in history?
The Bible was not an accident. Both the old and the new testaments were written
by men who were inspired directly by God. They wrote about what happened at the
time it was happening.
The Koran, on the other hand, was derived from only one man’s interpretation of
visions or dreams he had, which were written down by men who heard stories or
tales of the visions but had no first-hand experience.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather put my faith in something that was
God-inspired and not ghost-inspired.

Moving on to the
Christian church and how it compares to an Islamic mosque. Mark
Lanier, Bible Scholar and teacher at Champion Forest Baptist Church, poses these
questions:
What are the Muslim traditions before praying? Before Eating? What are Muslims
required to say during their 5-times-a-day prayers? What do they do?
Now, what do Christians do? Do we have a specific ritual we MUST follow each and
every time we pray or we won’t go to heaven? Are we required to pray at certain
times of the day? Do we have to wear special clothing?

Segment 1 of 6
There are many “clans” or “tribes” of Muslims all over the world, even here
in America. Are they all the same? Do they all believe the same thing? Are they
all like the Muslims we see in the news? Plus, what are the "5 Pillars" of
Islam?
Mark Lanier, Bible Scholar and teacher at Champion Forest Baptist Church, did a
2-part study several years on the difference between Islam and Christianity. For
the first part of this study, please log on to
www.TerryLowry.com and search the
archives under Muhammad and Islam.
In the first segment of Part 2 today, Mark Lanier goes in to more detail about
the dream or visions Muhammad had with the Angel Gabriel. Were they visions from
God or from the devil?

Topic: Muhammad And Islam
Discussed by Mark Lanier
with Biblical Literacy (www.Biblical-Literacy.com)
In the previous segment on
Muhammad and Islam, Bible Scholar Mark Lanier briefly touched on the different
“tribes” or “clans” of Muslims.
In this segment, Mark mentions that the same differences are present in
Christianity. Catholics believe differently than Methodists. Baptists believe
differently than Lutherans.
Mark Lanier also discusses in this segment what Muslims believe about Allah and
Jesus, how they believe God created the world, and why men were created.
So who is right? What aspects of these different beliefs are wrong, according to
the Bible?
This segment is very powerful, and jam-packed with great information!
Listen in now.

- it is to Jesus and Christianity.
In this final segment today - tune in tomorrow for more! - Mark Lanier dives

Part 4 of 6
Yesterday on the
What’s UP Radio Program, we aired the first 3 segments of a study that
Bible scholar Mark Lanier did several years ago concerning the similarities and
differences between Islam and Christianity.
In the last segment yesterday, Mark Lanier began to discuss the Kaa’ba and how
it got destroyed. He now continues this study with who was going to repair Kaa’ba and
what happened when Mohammad saw it for the first time.
Then, after the debacle with the Kaa’ba, Muhammad supposedly sees the Angel
Gabriel. How does this impact the Islamic religion? How is it impacting the
world today? How can we know if this is even true?

Muhammad was a born
leader with great debating skills. He was also very conniving.
He pulled the wool over many people’s eyes, especially Christians and Jews.
Then, hundreds of years after Muhammad’s death, Muslim scholars begin to write
down the teachings of Muhammad. These Muslim also made up translations to Greek
and Hebrew words and twisted them around to be more favorable for Muhammad and
Islam.
So who do you believe? Jesus or Muhammad?

Part 1 of 6
Join Mark Lanier,
renowned attorney and Bible Study Leader at Champion Forest Baptist Church in
Houston as he begins his study of Muhammad And Islam. This is
a series of two lessons taught about 5 years ago, but the truths presented in
these lessons have not changed and are as pertinent today as when they were
originally presented. The first half of the first lesson will be presented today
in three parts, and the last half of Part 1 of the series will be presented
tomorrow.
In the first lesson Mark explains the culture and society that
Muhammad was born into and how these combined to produce the man and his
religion.
In lesson two Mark will compare and contrast Islam and Christianity,
and even though Islam is based on the Bible as we know it, Mark will explain how the two religions
are radically different.

What kind of world
was Muhammad, the founder of Islam, born into? Here is a mental
picture: The Roman Empire was in control of most of the world, Jews were being
hated, and anti-Semitism was becoming the norm, Muhammad’s family and tribe
lived in tents and moved around like nomads.
Bible scholar, Mark Lanier, continues lesson 1 of his study of Muhammad and
Islam. Please note that this study was given nearly five years ago, so some
mentions of current leaders may not be completely accurately, however, the
religious information is still relevant today.

The Islamic religion
is spreading like wild fire and many people, especially Christians, do not fully
understand what the religion is all about. Some experts say that 1
out of every 4 to 6 people is a Muslim.
Ever wanted to know what Muhammad said about Sarah and Abraham and the birth of
their baby? What about the significance of the Kaaba and Zamzam well? Listen in
today!
