During this second segment with Janell, she outlines the “contract” she has for her children. Why did she do it? What is in the contract? Why is it so important for parents to lay some ground rules early on? Should parents have the right to random phone checks?

Sexting. Ugh. We all know it’s a “touchy” subject. You will surely get some eye rolls. You’ll probably hear: “But, Mom! I know!” or “Dad, you’re embarrassing me!” However, the conversation MUST happen, according to Janell. All children and teens need to hear about the dangers of sexting, not just for moral reasons, but for safety and criminal reasons, as well.

Another important topic is bullies. Cyber bullying is a real problem in today’s society. Your children should know what to do if they are the victim of cyber bullying or see it happening to someone else. They should especially know the serious consequences if they are the instigator.
