Title: Gospel for Asia
Topic: Water in the Name of Jesus
Discussed by Daniel Punnose
with Gospel for Asia (www.gfa.org)

Yesterday, Tuesday, March 22, was World Water Day
. It is an important day to reflect on and remember the 3.4 million people who die worldwide each year from water-related diseases. We in America cannot fathom the thought of traveling miles each day just to gather a few bucket-fulls of water for our family to cook with. And forget about indoor plumbing and taking a shower after a long day working outside. There is no such luxury in many countries around the world – even in 2016.

Daniel Punnose is the Vice President for Gospel for Asia, a Christ-following organization which brings help and hope to the millions of people in the Eastern Hemisphere who have never heard of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. GFA’s mission is simple: quench physical thirst by supplying people with clean, safe drinking water and satisfy their spiritual thirst by spreading the Good News.

What is a BioSand Filter? A BioSand Filter is a device which strips water of impurities. They are inexpensive to make and the materials to construct the devises are found locally. When water runs through the filter, it comes out 98% pure and is so simple even a child can use it! Listen in as Daniel Punnose recounts his many visits to various places in Asia with his father and the long process of boiling and cleaning water. The water is so unclean in many parts of the world that you cannot even accidentally swallow any while you are brushing your teeth! That is how valuable BioSand Filters are to millions of people across the globe.

As believers, we should all have the compassion of Christ and be moved to action. We are all called to get involved by the Great Commission. Most importantly, we can all pray. “This is not an awareness campaign. This is a campaign to see a difference made,” Daniel Punnose implores.

Daniel urges listeners to sponsor a BioSand Filter for just $30. Click here to donate.

If you feel led to sponsor a Jesus Well, click here.

Part 1 of 3

There are over 300,000,000 (that’s 300 MILLION) Dalits – or “Untouchables” – in India. Millions more across Asia. These people are considered outcasts and are often not allowed to use local water wells, posing a serious health threat.

Listen in as Daniel Punnose, with Gospel for Asia, shares how you can help.

How often have you had to walk for hours just to fill a dirty bucket with dirty water for your family to use for bathing, drinking, and cooking? Many women in Asia must do just that – along with their daughters.

I cannot imagine the difficulty these people face every day. They cannot simply turn on a faucet to wash their hands or get a cold drink of water. Most have never even had cold, clean water.

What can – what WILL – you do to help?

What happens when the wells and ponds dry up during the summer months? How do these Dalits obtain water to survive?

Gospel for Asia has a goal to drill 5,000 water wells during the next year. Each well costs $1,000. If you and 9 of your friends each gave $100 each, you could provide clean, fresh water to people who are in desperate need. Do you have 9 friends? I do.

Log on to www.GFA.org  to learn how. Take the information to work and ask co-workers to help. Tell your Bible Study Class how you would like to sponsor a well and ask them to chip in. Invite your neighbors for evening coffee and dessert and explain how they can be part of something amazing halfway across the world and change a life forever. When we all join together, wonderful things will happen in the Name of Jesus.

Title: Update on the ongoing Tsunami relief efforts by Gospel for Asia
Topic: Tsunami Disaster Update and Relief
Discussed by Dr. K. P. Yohanan
with Gospel for Asia (www.gfa.org)

Dr. Yohanan, the president and founder of Gospel for Asia, just returned from the disaster area to give us an eye witness report. In many areas, all the poor have is a 10 x 10 foot tent, most without sides. When it rains, everything turns into mud. What can we do to help? What ever organization you help, cash is better than buying things here and shipping them. Remember - most of what we buy, is made over there. It is less expensive to buy there and then there is no shipping costs. We are commanded to be good stewards. log onto: www.gfa.org

Title: the untouchables are dying - at the hand of their own government!
Topic: Tsunami Disaster Update and Relief
Discussed by Dr. K. P. Yohanan
with Gospel for Asia (www.gfa.org)

Many survivors of the Tsunami are now overwhelmed by their own government's lack of compassion. In India and other SE Asia countries, because of the Caste System, the uppers are not allowed to touch an "untouchable" and there is a wave of growing evidence that the very governments we are sending millions of dollars to, are NOT allowing aid to reach the poorest of the poor. Where is the United Nations? Are they being paid off with our dollars?
