Title: Israel Responds
Topic: Nepal Disaster Relief
Discussed by Libby Weiss
with Israeli Government

Libby Weiss is a spokesperson for Israel and is in Nepal where the devastation is. Israel is well-known for being one of the first countries to respond with aid after natural and man-made disasters occur. How are they able to respond so quickly?

The damage to the area is significant and it is clear that people will be struggling for quite a bit of time,” Libby says, “but we’ll keep helping them every day.” Libby also discusses what their long-term goals are with helping the people of Nepal.

There are approximately 200 medical staff from Israel on the ground in Nepal. As of Thursday, May 7, the 1,000th patient had been treated at Israel’s field hospital, 80 surgeries had been performed, and 8 births.

In addition to the medical staff, Israel has dispatched many reserve soldiers and officers to Nepal to help with rescue and recovery. If you would like to help, please research the various charities that are sending aid to Nepal and prayerfully consider sending one a monetary donation.

Others that are assisting. Donations welcome.
