Imagine if you couldn’t take a shower every day or reach in the fridge for a cold bottle of water after a long workout. What if you couldn’t even boil a pot of water to make your kids some mac ‘n cheese? Oh, the horrors!
Nearly 800 million people in the world do not have access to clean, safe drinking water. They don’t have enough water for warm showers every day or cold water in a bottle. Most of them probably don’t even know what mac ‘n cheese is!

My granddaughter Claire, who is in the second grade, recently told her mother that people can survive weeks without food, but you can only survive a few days without enough water. Even a 7 year old understands the importance of water!
Every day in Africa, 2,000 children die and more than 2 million people die every year because of water-related diseases such as diarrhea.

How far would you be willing to walk just to fill a few buckets with some dirty, contaminated water? How long would you wait in line for it?
Many women spend 20 hours every week just collecting water for their families, some walking 7 miles every day in places that are not even safe for travel. Oftentimes, children must come along to help carry the bucket. Would you want your children to live like that?

What can you do to help the millions and millions of people around the world who suffer - and even die - daily from lack of water? PLENTY!
Join the “H2O PROJECT” and encourage your Bible Study Class and church to participate as well. Plus, it makes you healthier! This is also a great “teachable moment” for your children and teenagers. Get them involved and document your discoveries, how much you save, and, in return, how much you GAVE!
