Title: SCOTUS to Entertain Two Cases
Topic: Gay Marriage
Discussed by Michael Connelly
with United States Justice Foundation (www.usjf.net)
In what came to a surprise to many in the legal field, the Supreme Court
recently announced that it would, in fact, hear 2 related cases concerning the
issue of same-sex marriage.
Michael Connelly was an attorney in Louisiana for 26 years, specializing in
Constitutional law. He says this of the controversy: “There is nothing in the
Constitution that requires (the law) to be changed. The courts have no authority
to change the Constitution to fit the concept of political correctness, or to
interfere with laws regarding marriage that are passed by the Congress or the
people of a particular state.”
